Zoladex LA 10.8 MG contains Goserelin which belongs to a group of medicines called Luteinising hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) analogues. It is used to treat prostate cancer (in men), breast cancer, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, infertility (with other medicines) which helps to control the release of eggs from the ovaries (in women).

Zoladex LA 10.8 mg injection works by reducing testosterone hormone in men and estrogen hormone in women.

Zoladex LA 10.8 Injection is given as an injection under the skin by a qualified medical professional. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time.

Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have a history of drinking alcohol and diabetes. Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine so let your healthcare team know all medications you are using.

MEDICINAL USE OF ZOLADEX 10.8 INJECTION
  • In men, used in combination with other drugs to treat Prostate cancer
  • In women, used to treat advanced breast cancer
  • Used to treat endometriosis (A disorder in which tissue that normally lines the uterus grows outside the uterus) and uterine fibroids.
  • Used as an endometrial-thinning agent before performing any surgery in your uterus.
  • Used to treat infertility in women with other medicines.

Zoladex LA 10.8 MG is a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analog. In men it works by reducing the amount of testosterone (hormone) that is produced by body. In women, it works by reducing the amount of estrogen (hormone).

LHRH agonists work by telling the pituitary gland located in the brain to stop producing leutinizing hormone, which stimulates the testicles to release testosterone in men and stimulates the ovaries to release estrogen in women.

  • The dosage may be adjusted based on the patient's renal function, medical history and other medications they are taking.
