UJVIRA 160MG INJECTION contains Ado-Trastuzumab Emtansine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibody-Drug Conjugates. It is used to treat metastatic breast cancer (cancer that has been spread to other body parts from breasts). It can also be used to treat relapsing breast cancer in patients when complete cure is not achievable.
Ujvira 160mg injection works by killing the cancer cells by inhibiting HER2 (human epidermal growth factor receptor protein).
Ujvira 160mg Injection is given as an injection by a qualified medical professional. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time.
This medicine may reduce the number of blood cells (decrease red blood and white blood cells) in your blood, thereby, increasing the susceptibility to infections. Regular blood tests are required to check your blood cells along with heart, liver, and blood uric acid levels.
Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine so let your healthcare team know all medications you are using.
Trastuzumab binds selectively to the HER2 receptors on breast cancer cells' surface, blocks them from receiving growth signals, and stops the cancer cell's growth. DM1 becomes active once the drug enters the cancer cells and helps stop cancer cell growth.
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
