Lenvat 10mg Capsule is composed of the active ingredient Lenvatinib. It is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor indicated for progressive or advanced thyroid cancer when radioactive iodine therapy is not beneficial.
Lenvat 10mg Capsule is also used on its own to treat liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma) when it becomes unresectable in adult patients. It is also used together with pembrolizumab (anticancer medicine) to treat endometrial carcinoma when cancer has spread and cannot be treated by surgery/radiation treatment.
Lenvat 10mg Capsule is also indicated for use in combination with everolimus (anticancer medicine) to treat advanced renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer) in adults prior to anti-angiogenic therapy (cancer therapy).
Lenvat 10mg Capsule can be taken with or without food, but try to have it at the same time every day to get the most benefits. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time.
Before taking it,tell your doctor if have heart disease, liver, or kidney problems or are taking any medicines to treat infections. Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine so let your healthcare team know all medications you are using.
Lenvat 10mg Capsule blocks the enzyme receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs). RTKs develop new blood vessels that supply oxygen and nutrients to the cells and help them grow. This medicine inhibits the receptors that facilitate the growth of blood vessels in tumor cells. RTKs are present in high concentrations in cancer cells, and administration of this medicine slows down the rate of cancer cells’ growth and multiplication.
