Jakavi tablet is an anti-cancer medication that works by blocking the action of the abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply. It is an anticancer agent that belongs to the class of kinase inhibitors.

Jakavi tablet is also used for treating chronic graft versus host disease in adults and children 12 years of age and older who were treated unsuccessfully with 1 or 2 other systemic treatments.

This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time. You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised. Taking it in the wrong way or taking too much can cause very serious side effects.

This medicine may reduce the number of blood cells (decrease red blood) in your blood, thereby, increasing the susceptibility to infections

Before taking it, tell your doctor if you have liver, or kidney problems or are taking any medicines to treat infections. Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine so let your healthcare team know all medications you are using

Jakavi 20mg tablet, a kinase inhibitor, inhibits dysregulated Janus Associated Kinase (JAK) 1 and JAK2 signaling associated with myelofibrosis and polycythemia vera. By blocking certain enzymes, this medicine can reduce the serious risk of blood or vascular complication in myelofibrosis and polycythemia vera. In GVHD, it reduces the signs and symptoms, improving the disease and survival of transplanted cells.
