Degapride 80mg injection contains the active ingredient degarelix. It is used to treat advanced prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is cancer that occurs in the prostate (a gland in males that produces seminal fluid). Cancer is a disorder in which cells multiply in an uncontrolled and abnormal manner.

Degapride 120mg injection has the potential to impair the fertility of males and females of reproductive potential.

Degapride 80mg Injection is given as an injection under the skin only under the supervision of a doctor. Do not try to self-inject the medicine as it might enhance the chances of an accident or get injected into the veins.

Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have ever had heart disease, or diabetes or liver disease. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Your doctor may check for prostate specific antigen (PSA) level in your blood, to know treatment is working or not.

It directly blocks the effects of a natural hormone (gonadotropin-releasing hormone, GnRH), reduces the level of the male hormone testosterone, and slows down the growth of prostate cancer cells.
