Daratumumab injection is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat multiple myeloma (a type of cancer of the bone marrow) in newly diagnosed people and in people who have not improved with treatment or who have improved after treatment with other medications but the condition returned.

Daratumumab is in a class of medications called monoclonal antibodies. It works by helping the body to slow or stop the growth of cancer cells.

Monoclonal antibodies are proteins that recognize and attach to the specific target, killing the cancer cells. It is used to treat a type of cancer called multiple myeloma (bone marrow cancer) in adults 18 years or older

This medicine may reduce the number of blood cells (decrease white blood cells) in your blood, thereby, increasing the susceptibility to infections. Regular blood tests are required to check your blood cells while taking this medicine.

Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine so let your healthcare team know all medications you are using.
