Bdenza 40mg capsule contains the active ingredient Enzalutamide. It is an antineoplastic drug that belongs to the category of medicines known as androgen receptor inhibitors. This medication is used in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer in patients who do not respond to surgical or hormonal treatments.
Bdenza 40mg Capsule should be taken with or without food, preferably at a fixed time every day. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time.
You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised. Taking it in the wrong way or taking too much can cause very serious side effects. It may take several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits but do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to.
Before taking it, tell your doctor if have diabetes, seizures, liver, or kidney problems or are taking any medicines to treat infections. Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine so let your doctor know all medications you are using.
The use of effective contraception by both males and females during treatment is important to avoid pregnancy. You may be asked for regular monitoring of blood glucose level while on treatment.
With prednisone/prednisolone:
Bdenza 40mg tablet works by inhibiting the active form of testosterone, called dihydrotestosterone. It selectively blocks the androgen receptors and disrupts the translocation of signals from the receptor to the cell. Thus, the androgen hormone does not bind to the androgen receptors and these androgen receptors do not interact with DNA. This blocks the functioning of cancer cells and reduces its multiplication.
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
Ans :Before starting treatment with Bdenza 40mg capsule, your healthcare provider will recommend tests for Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) tests. This blood test measures the level of PSA, a protein produced by the prostate gland that can be elevated in men with prostate cancer. PSA levels can help monitor the progression of the disease and the response to treatment. Other tests also include liver function tests and complete blood count (CBC).
Ans :If you missed taking a dose of Bdenza 40mg capsule, skip this dose. Do not take two tablets to make up for the missed dose. Report to your healthcare provider right away if you missed taking more than two doses of this drug.
Ans :Bdenza 40mg capsule is not recommended for people who are allergic to any of their ingredients. Also, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should avoid taking it, because this drug can harm an unborn baby or pass into breast milk.
Ans : It is not recommended to smoke cigarettes while on treatment with Bdenza 40mg capsule as smoking can reduce the concentration of this drug in the body.
Ans : Watch out for symptoms like fatigue, tiredness, nausea, vomiting, severe headache, and seek immediate medical attention from a nearby healthcare facility.
